Freeway Art is a Chicana-fronted jangly dreamgaze band looking for beauty everywhere, especially within. Through their defiant yet optimistic and politically-coded songs, Freeway Art's unique, dreamy sound blends reverb-heavy guitars and feminine harmonies to make you feel something.
"like the radio dept.'s 'heaven's on fire' and the sundays had a baby who really hated fascism"
Initially formed in Ithaca, NY, Freeway Art's founding members are Rocio Anica (vox/guitar) and Mike Sheikh (drums). Calista Uher (keys) and Zach Jones (bass) joined in later years. Freeway Art's founding members now divide their time between Ithaca and Kingston, PA and the Gulf of México.
Staunchly DIY, Freeway Art built a home studio in Kingston, PA, and will be releasing their full-length album through their drummer's label, Bete Noire Records, in late 2026.
